Kia set to launch all-new Cee’d at 2012 Geneva Motor Show

Kia is set to launch an all-new cee'd at Geneva this year, repeating its accomplishment six years ago when the all-European cee'd amazed visitors at that year's Geneva Motor Show. The all-new variant has elegant lines, heralding an even more successful future for the automaker's bed-rock C-segment model. It merges sophisticated, dynamic styling with prestige and maturity. This five-door hatchback is wider, lower and longer than its predecessor, but with the same long wheelbase. Its elegant yet simple coupe-like proportions are highlighted by a very low belt-line in the front, lengthened side windows and a steeply raked A-pillar.
The front of the new cee'd features the recent interpretation of Kia's trademark 'tiger-nose' grille and aggressive, wraparound headlamp clusters housing signature LED daytime running lights. In profile, the distinct back and front wings highlight the vehicle's solid stance and wide track while above, the taut, strongly sculpted door surfaces, sweeping roofline, integral rear spoiler and the steeply raked A-pillar accent the sporting appeal of the new model's generous glasshouse. The exterior is decorated by various small but highly significant detail touches, adding to the premium and prestige feel of the new cee'd without detracting from the elegance and purity of the general design.
These details include a new, more sophisticated and bolder Kia badge, the Kia-signature windscreen head castellations, the indicator blade protrusion in the front headlamps, the cee'd-unique, aerodynamic shaping of the tail lamp extending into the adjacent bodywork, and the chrome side glazing surround. The new cee'd showcases an all-new interior sealed by a more premium feel and look, improved switchgear, higher perceived quality, enhanced driving position ergonomics, and touch-screen technology. The dashboard layout has a cockpit-like design with a driver-oriented, aircraft-themed facade. The main control panel wraps around the steering wheel wherein all switchgear are placed within easy access for the driver and the main control groups like air-conditioning and audio have been separated to bring a more luxurious, premium, big-car atmosphere to the interior.
