2012 Detroit Auto Show: 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo makes its official debut

After few leaked photos, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo made its debut today in Detroit and promises to take on the competition such as the Volkswagen Golf GTI or the MINI Cooper S. the 2013 Veloster Turbo is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine delivering 201 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 195 lb-ft of torque from 1750 – 4500 rpm. Hyundai says that the Veloster Turbo will be able to deliver a fuel consumption of 27 mpg city and best-in-class 38 mpg highway for manual transmission models. The engine is mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission or to an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Just like the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the Veloster Turbo offers the automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle-shifter and Shiftronic controls. The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo also offers a new design and comes with a bigger, bolder hexagonal front grille, new side sills, a dynamic rear bumper with diffuser vents in the lower fascia but also with a brand new centered exhaust system. These new pipes and the new intake manifold also allowed engineers to give the engine a more robust sound, which will delight enthusiasts.
Moreover, a new set of 18-inch gray wheels with chrome inserts completes the design. Veloster Turbo’s face also has signature eight individual headlight LED accents. Regarding the color palette, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo will be available in olors that fit the cars “own-it” attitude and characteristics of a long-distance runner, including Elite White. The interior color choices are Graphite Black or exclusive to the Turbo Graphite Black with Blue accents and headliner graphics for non-panoramic sunroof models.
